Refine Distribution Lists

The Refine Distribution Lists app is built on top of Sedna's Stream product. Easily accessible from the Context Panel, it allows you to search and pull from Group Contacts and easily create custom recipient lists.

How it works

This app reduces the time you would previously have spent combing through each email recipient from your existing distribution lists, called Group Contacts in Stream.

Sometimes you need to slightly modify the recipient list, removing or adding different recipients in different circumstances. Sometimes, you may wish to combine multiple groups and customise them.

This app makes this process easy, able to draw from all of your Group Contacts to combine and pick-and-choose who you want to receive an email.

Access the app

1. Create a new Draft email or open an existing one.
2. On the right side of Stream, you will see the Context Panel which consists of Activity, Tags, and Apps. Click the Apps button.
3. Click the "Refine Distribution Lists" app to open it.

Create a custom recipient list

1. Search for the name of an existing Group Contact (distribution list).
2. Customise a single Group Contact:
   1. Click the arrow button, which opens a window where you can customise the list.
3. Combine and customise multiple Group Contacts:
   1. Select multiple Group Contacts by clicking the plus sign next to each one.
   2. Once you have searched for and selected the desired Group Contacts, click "Open Added".
   3. This will pull up a window where all recipients will be listed in one place, ready to be filtered, sorted, selected/deselected and added into the Draft.

Filter

You can filter the list easily by typing in a search query and pressing the "Filter" button. The filter will look across each contact's name, company, email address and country.

Sort

You can sort the list by:

• Name: Last name of individual Contact
• Country
• Company

Select

• You select or deselect individual Contacts by using the checkboxes. This allows you to customize which recipients are included in the email Draft.
• If needed, you can use the "All" or "None" buttons if you wish to select all recipients or clear all selections.

Add to Draft

One unique benefit of Refine Distribution Lists is the ability to choose which recipient field the addresses are added to.

You can add a completed group of customised recipients with the click of a button, without needing to comb through and drag them one-by-one. This prevents errors and saves time.

Once you are happy with your selection of recipients, click one of the following options:

• Add To: Add recipients to the "To:" field
• Add Cc: Add recipients to the "Cc:" field
• Add Bcc: Add recipients to the "Bcc:" field
